Patients over 40 years old will also have to get Liver Function Tests such as the alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), albumin, and bilirubin test. an EKG and a Chest X-Ray.

These must be done approximately 1 week before surgery.
